Soooooo, you want to know a little bit about me, ... Dave Murphy? Well, I'll be happy to oblige you.

In the 1,573rd year of the Common Era, while the moon was in the eighth house of Aquarius, when the buffalo were plenty, I came to be in this universe, born with a dashing smile, a silver tongue, a great sense of humor, a karaoke machine, and a microphone in my mouth. Perhaps, someone in a previous life meant to put a coin in there for my journey across the River Styx. Instead, I am a fan of BAND Styx; funny how that worked out.

Obviously, the "sense of humor" part is true; the jury is out on the rest.

Okay, okay. In truth, I have loved entertaining people since a young age (including "side skits" during school performances, if a spare phone booth was available). I've always loved "performing" and have taken the opportunity, whenever possible, be it for customers waiting in line or while the kids are running wild. Even while working my "day job," I take the time to entertain guests as they come through. I hope, for each passing person, I brighten their day just a little bit.

Besides karaoke (a great practice ground), I have performed as a solo artist and as a member of the Hot Mix Band (led by Bob Chance) at various Anaheim & Buena Park clubs (and private functions) since 1992. My passion is singing but I also am proficient on the drum set, having played it while also handling a lead singer role in our bar band for the last five years. When not performing with the band, you can find me singing karaoke at Linbrook Bowl in Anaheim, California. []

My musical influences include: Alan Parsons/Alan Parsons Project, David Pack/Ambrosia, Shoes, Huey Lewis & the News, and Animal. Other performance influences include: Jack Benny, Jeff Dunham, and Walter.

Wait, wait, wait .... "Day job?" Yes, I have one of those as well. Without this, I couldn't afford my singing lessons!

Just kidding.

Professor LeBlanc gave up on me YEARS ago ....
